Calveley Church RELIEVED at last to be able to report that we have new plumbing in the Vestry. Regular readers will know that this means a toilet suite. Our thanks to architects, buil- ders, plumber and electrician for creating a valuable convenience for us. The Safari Supper, held on August 18th as a trial event, was a great success - £160 being raised for church funds. Calveley Ladies' Cake Stall was as popular as ever at Beeston Castle Fete and was quickly sold out. Thanks to all providers and helpers - you know who you are. The Communion Service on the 16th, September, which remembered the casualties of the recent terrorist action in the U.S.A. and preceded our Garden Party and BBQ, was very well attended; we welcomed many who had come to our church for the first time. We hope our next service, which is a Harvest Songs of Praise on the 7th, October at 6.30 p.m., will be equally well supported. A report on the Garden Party follows next month when more information is to hand. Future events for your diary include a Bonfire Night celebration at The Wood- lands, Calveley Hall Lane, on the 3rd, November, a Charity Stall on the 8th, November at Northwich Market (any saleable items gratefully received and can be collected) and during early December a Sherry and Mince Pie Evening, date to be advised. The November issue of the "Parish Link" will contain advance dates of our special Christmas Services. D.W. |
