Harvest Hilarity !!!
Fun and Laughter at the Methodist Harvest Supper

The Harvest Supper at the Methodist Chapel was brilliant - the food was good, the entertainment was fun and the general atmosphere was amazing. I don't know what happened downstairs during the meal because I was upstairs eating my delicious meal with the Young Christians. We had a joke, tucked in to our food and played cards, but that was more or less it .... until the time came for us to take to the stage with our entertainment for the evening.

The first thing we did was a sketch called "Farmer Jack" based on the Parable of the Sower. We had done this short play before so it wasn't so difficult. Everyone enjoyed it though, but we were just warming up. Next my sister, Verity, and I performed a dialogue sketch between a Christian and God - obviously, I played God. Again, we got a good reception for this, and I don't know about anyone else but it certainly taught me a thing or two. However, now came our climax.....

For our finale we had a singsong where everyone had to join in. It was full of songs familiar to people of all ages. Tom Crotty and Melissa Slack played their instruments and everyone had a good time. My personal favourite part came when we sang "Old Macdonald". I clucked around the stage like a chicken, 'oinked' like a pig and 'baaed' like a sheep; the audience seemed to enjoy it though, despite my humiliation.

I hope that everyone had a good time and that they all enjoyed the madness that was the Young Christians.
