100 years ago100 years ago in the Bunbury Section of the Malpas Deanery Magazine of November, 1900, the Vicar, Mr. Townend, wrote about the success earlier, and the "tasteful and elegant" decorating of the churches, at Bunbury and Spurstow Harvest Festivals. Mrs. Townend was busy organising the Mothers' Union programme for the winter, and evening study and discussion classes had reopened at the Vicarage. A new Service had been started on Wednesday evenings at Mrs. Frost's house, Bunbury Heath. This was "for those living round Beeston Moss and for those who at present [did] not have the opportunity of attending Church." Meanwhile, the 12.30 p.m. Services for Railwaymen at Beeston Castle Station was to be changed from Fridays to Thursdays owing to an alteration in the train service.
