The Christingle Service has now established itself as an annual event on the first Sunday in December. The church was very full in 1999 and the many lighted candles from the beribboned oranges in the darkened church was a sight to remember.
The Christingle Service collection, together with the proceeds of the Smartie tubes and Blue Boxes, yielded an overall total of £820. A cheque for this amount was presented to Mr. Frank Mawdsley of the Children's Society when he came to preach on the following Sunday.
A "Thank You" to all those who have contributed in any way to the Children's Society funds.
