On the 30th, January, the fifth Sunday of the month, the 11.00 a.m. service at St. Boniface Church was, as something of an experimental innovation, a Book of Common Prayer Holy Communion Service.
Innovation?!
For many of the congregation it was like a home-coming: this was the service we older ones have known by heart since we were "young adults" (no teenagers in those days), and once again our parents, long dead, and our old friends seemed to be there alongside us in spirit as the familiar words, in their fine English prose, sounded out. No need of prayer books for us that morning! We were back at last in the old familiar service, back to normal, after a long absence.
The next fifth Sunday will be the 30th, April. We look forward to it!
