The Parish Link

The decisions have been made. We are still trying to improve the "Link", to make it more relevant, more informative, more interesting, more enjoyable; and now both of our Parochial Church Councils have discussed their policy with regard to the Magazine.

No-one is likely to be surprised to learn that there is a difference in approach! St. Jude's P.C.C. came down in favour of providing the "Link" to all those who ask for it and are happy to pay for their copy - the system we have all been used to in the past. St. Boniface P.C.C. decided, as a mission approach, to give the Magazine, free of charge, to everyone in their Parish. The cost to St. Boniface, it is intended, will be funded by their share of advertising charges, by donations and by an annual Magazine Sunday.

So, we are going to do both!

We have already set to work on a count of all the houses in Bunbury and its wider Parish,

now more or less completed, and we have recruited a pleasing number of new, willing deliverers. Their job is made easier, of course, by the fact that there is no longer any need to call and ask if people want the Magazine or to collect money. They will simply pop a Magazine through every letter-box on their round.

Some of the rounds are larger than others, but as more people come forward, volunteering to be deliverers, we will be able to split some areas and make other adjustments. Mrs. Barbara Morrey, in charge of St. Boniface Parish distribution, will be pleased to hear from anyone willing to "play postman" once a month.

Meanwhile the St. Jude's distribution, following the established pattern, is in the capable hands of Mrs. Bunty Fairclough.

We expect the new system in Bunbury to go into action next month, with the mid-May number.
