THE CHURCH OF THE FUTURE ?

It has been said to me many times since I came to St. Jude's that we must do something for the children and the young people - they are "the church of the future". They are - but so are we all! Each one of us, no matter what our age, has a part in God's church of tomorrow as well as of today. As part of the Body of Christ, the church, we all have a duty to support the baptised, young and old, through our encouragement and our prayer.

We have a duty also to teach and be taught. Wyn Lloyd has for many years given valuable service to the Sunday School and there is much to be thankful for. However, there is still a concern for today's younger generation which is shared by many. So what are we going to do? Does anyone know how many young people there are under the age of 15 years in the Parish of Tilstone Fearnall? Is there someone who would like to find out? Is there someone who would like to share some of their time with young people? Translating concern into action is a way we can all be the church of the future. If you have any ideas, please let the Church Wardens or myself know.

We are fortunate in that Bishop Peter has agreed to hold a Confirmation Service at St. Jude's on the 10th, September this year. Please give your name to either Rick or myself if you would like to be confirmed on this occasion so that preparation sessions can begin soon after Easter. This is a great opportunity offered to our Parish.
