Bunbury Church has long supported The Children's Society and its forebears. Entries in Edwardian Parish Magazines record donations to The Waifs and Strays which later became The Church of England Children's Society. In recent years, to avoid giving the impression of perhaps preferential treatment to C of E children, the name was shortened to its present length. This modern image reflects the charitable work being done by the Society for children of all races and creeds.
Please support The Children's Society by means of the Smarties tube collection this year. The filled tubes can be returned, ideally after Lent at Easter time either to Mrs. Barbara Morrey, our Magazine and Smarties tube distributor - or to John Elsworth, in his capacity as PCC Treasurer. Thank you!
