At the 10 a.m. Service on 25 April, the Vicar will present Certificates to our new bellringers who have been very enthusiastic in learning to handle their bells. It is hoped they will continue to make progress, becoming proficient ringers fully involved in our Sunday Service ringing.
Of general interest, on May Day very many of the country's bells will be ringing in support of the Children's Society. It is hoped that Bunbury bells will take part in this nation-wide event and our ringers will be pleased to accept sponsorship. Bunbury Church, as a long-standing supporter of The Children's Society, is pleased to encourage our BellRingers to take part, The following is an extract from the Society's letter;
"Over the last few years, Britain has become an increasingly divided society, with our children having a one in three chance of being born into poverty. Children have now overtaken the elderly as the largest age group caught in the poverty trap and whole communities are breaking down under the combined pressure of unemployment, crime and dislocated families. There has never been a greater need for our work with vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people. Therefore your help is warmly appreciated. Your involvement and your donation can make a real difference in the lives of many children and young people."
Our ringers will be pleased to answer any questions with regard to bell ringing and also the May Day ringing event - so your sponsorship please!
